We offer meditation in a variety of formats, including in-person groups, online groups, and one-on-one intensive sessions, either live or at a distance. Participants typically bring a topic or topics on which they desire healing. The purpose of this type of meditation is to reprogram and rewire the mind at the subconscious level to resolve issues around topics of interest. Meditation is used at MED*UM in conjunction with manual therapies to promote physical healing.
Meditation at MED*UM focuses on grounding. Grounding means being connected to the planet Earth, accepting the conditions on planet Earth, and aligning with the flow of life on this planet. In other words, we’re talking about being realistic and dropping unnecessary physical, emotional, and mental charge that no longer serves us, to promote physical healing.
Our meditation sessions are appropriate for groups or individuals, live, online, or mixed. The techniques are straightforward and relatively easy and can be mastered by anybody with some practice. We focus on using meditation in a productive way to advance in life. We typically meditate sitting in a chair; however, one important aspect of this meditation is simply to have the feet flat on the earth to enhance the sense of grounding. Many participants — as well as the instructor — prefer to lie flat on their back with their knees bent and their feet flat on the earth. Sessions typically last from 15 minutes to 60 minutes, and we can integrate some aspect of meditation along with manual therapies as well.
Meditation is used for mindfulness and it does result in relaxation. As explained previously, however, the focus of meditation at MED*UM is being productive. Our goal is for you to increase your sense of personal power and freedom through meditation. We note that powerful, free people tend to be relaxed as a bonus secondary effect.
Meditation is widely documented scientifically for improving mental health. Very specifically, at MED*UM, we use meditation to reprogram the mind in a way that eliminates the source of negative and repetitive thoughts that work against your goals.
Our favorite use case for meditation is success in life. Meditation promotes health, improves mental clarity, allows deeper sleep, and promotes a relaxed state of being. These are the elements of a happy, productive lifestyle, and people with these characteristics tend to be successful at whatever they choose to do.
